Ocean elements Float Center

Exterior

This was a super peaceful experience! I definitely recommend checking them out.
Ocean elements has an infrared spa, that changes colors, a multi-color salt room (can be used as chromotherapy), individual float, pods, and couples float pods. They also provide massages and they have a Revibe Chair.

Foot Massage

The facility is very clean and I enjoyed their selection of aftercare products-their conditioning lotion smelled so good and kept my hair super soft and hydrated after the session. Lisa is awesome and welcoming! She showed us around the spa before to familiarize us with the location and amenities ! Her customer service is next level !

The float session itself was super peaceful. There was a shower inside each room (both individual and the deluxe suite) to be used both before and after your float session. Inside the pod or suite you could play soothing music and put little star lights on the ceiling, you could be in complete darkness or have a blue calming light, if you prefer. Fun fact-We heard that Steph Curry uses float therapy to relax and get clarity!

In the deluxe suite

So basically, your session starts with you entering your room, undressing completely, and showering. After that you can choose to put an air plugs if you like you grab that neck rest and you enter your pod or suite. Once you’re in the pod, you press a button they can start soothing music and you can adjust the lights. They give you some spray in the event you get salt in your eyes. We didn’t need to use the spray basically just don’t splash around and play in the water.

As far as what’s in the water, there’s 1000 pounds of Epson salt and a shallow pool of water. Once you get in the pod, you kind of go into a kneeling position and then lay on your back to start floating. It’s super relaxing and you just concentrate on breathing . I used the earplugs, but Akeem did not. Your skin does not get puny and you start to feel a sense of clarity. It does feel a little slick or slippery towards the bottom of the pool, so just take caution when standing. I kind of floated from the top of the pod to the bottom and just pushed off the walls. Once you’re finished, you’ll return to the shower completely rent yourself off because you were just in salt water get dressed and go on about your day.

I really liked the products that ocean elements used for before and after care. The soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower were nice and soothing and I felt like my skin was moisturized after and I really liked the hair products because I kept my hair soft for the rest of the day- and if you didn’t know, I have a curly hair texture.

Benefits of Floating

When our session finished, we could hear the pod going through a cleaning cycle. The after effects are really nice! I was struggling with really bad allergies (spring had sprung) and they cleared up literally over night. In addition, I got a super restful sleep that night. The type of sleep that comes once in a blue moon: the other time I got sleep, that good I went to Canada and stayed at a nice hotel, which was a lot more expensive than float therapy!

*Ocean elements will provide towels and washcloths but you should bring your own deodorant and any extra toiletries!

Things to know before a floating session: I wouldn’t shave for at least 24 hours in advance- because your skin could feel very prickly, make sure you’re able to hold your bladder and you don’t have any bodily fluids leaking from your body, don’t dye or treat your hair.

Unfortunately our ride was running late (we’re so sorry) 😰 but Lisa was so sweet to stay and chat with us while we waited! It felt like friends catching up. I highly recommend checking them out and having a nice self care day!
