If you want to feel completely rested you need to visit Kings Spa !

I would say this was the most rested that I’ve felt leaving a spa… but be warned there is ALOT of nudity involved. It would be beneficial to be confident with your body! You’ll need to have a comfortability of being nude /and seeing nudity- if you’re going to visit.

Check in and getting to the locker room:

On arrival you check-in and receive your bracelet and key for your locker. The bracelet will have your own special sequence. This is what they’ll charge your food and treatments to. You’ll settle your balances at checkout… But make sure not to lose your bracelet. Once you have your bracelet and key you’ll head to the locker room. Men and women’s locker rooms are separate. Men will be off to the right and women off to the left. Once in the locker room, you’ll go through the first set of lockers and you’ll place your shoes and you’ll continue on to the second set of lockers where you’ll see a lot of nude people walking around.

I’m not super bashful when it comes to nudity but it was a lot to take in just because well I just haven’t been exposed to an environment like that before. However, I realized that this is a Korean style spa so things are going to be different and I just went with the flow. * I did meet a friend in the spa because she was just as confused as me and we said well we can just walk around and be nude together and figure out what we’re doing and where were supposed to be going. She ended up asking the lady at the desk for better Clarification on what’s supposed to happen and it was helpful.

So basically you grab a uniform they have a lot of sizes so feel free to choose one that fits and a small towel. They do have larger towels that can actually cover your body and robes for a Charge. Once you collect your uniform and a towel you’ll proceed to find your locker. They obviously don’t want you to use your phone in the locker room to protect peoples’ privacy lol as most people are naked.

The uniform

I think this is an area where the Spa can have a little bit more direction. However, if you’re reading this, it might help…

Directions:

If you want to go into the indoor therapy pools, (which include warm, warmer, hot, and a cold pool) you will need to be nude and you will need to shower.

The therapy pools are located in the locker rooms -this is also where you’ll find the showers, and the spa services. The spa services are in the back area of the pool room.

I walked right past the whole room because and had no clue that it was there. And I wasn’t trying to look around at everybody and everything while being nude and while they were nude… and I was trying to figure out how to link up with my boyfriend on the other side without using my phone.

*Help tip* So if you’re walking to exit the locker room, heading into the main area of the spa -you will see the therapy pools on the right for the women – just pass the service desk in the women’s locker room. You will book your spa services at the service desk in the women’s locker room.

I’m not sure what the men’s locker room looks like because I obviously didn’t go in. Lol But I’m going to guess it’s probably a mirror image to the women’s locker room.

If you choose to go into the saunas, it might be nice to shower first, although it’s not mandatory because you will need to wear your spa uniform (shorts and shirt) in the saunas. To get to the sauna, you will walk straight back, pass by services and pass the pool/shower area.. From there you would make a right and you’ll enter a beautiful little world with various saunas. I would recommend leaving your phone in the locker because there’s no cubby or anywhere to place your phone while you’re in the sauna.

The Saunas are coed so make sure you were wearing your uniform.

Once you’re in the sauna room, if you go upstairs, there’s a food Court, a few other rooms – including the Hinoki + Ion Sauna (or as I call it the pebble room), a media room, and an indoor aqua pool. I’m not sure if you can get to the aqua pool through this way, but you can definitely see it.

A different path:

So right now put yourself back in the locker room and going right as to the sauna. However, if you go left and upstairs that will lead you too. A small bathroom with showers that you can use to rinse if you want to wash with your bathing suit on. From there you can enter either the aqua pool or the outdoor hydrotherapy/bade pool. In both of these pools you are allowed to wear your swimsuit and they are coed so you can share time with your partner if they’re opposite gender.

This is where Akeem and I spent most of our time, either in the outdoor hydrotherapy pools, the indoor aqua pool, or the saunas – so we could be together. We did try out the indoor therapy pools in the locker room but obviously we were separate- and had to plan a time to meet back up.

My overall experience:

That’s basically the lay of the land. Now here’s my experience.

We started with a saunas…

Once we changed, we randomly decided to both just meet in the sauna area and basically come up with a game plan.

I really enjoyed the saunas. I would say my favorite was the Bul Ga Ma Sauna- it was the perfect amount of heat for me… And they had chairs they had areas on the floor, and it was just peaceful, overall. You also don’t need much time in here to work up a really nice sweat.

But they had several other saunas, including the charcoal, sauna, the yellow, mud room, the amethyst crystal salt room, the cold room, the rock salt sauna the gold sauna, Bul Han Jing Mak (which is like a VERY HOT little house) … there were way too many people in here when we were in here – like 25 people just kept coming in because they close at often to clean it. So you have to catch it when it’s open.

We did about half of the saunas, then use the ice room to cool down… Then we got some food.

The food court actually has a really nice selection of food choices to choose from. I will say this is an advantage over other spas – but don’t eat so much to where you get full. They have the cutest little teddy bear shaped 🧸 water bottles with fresh juice. They don’t have an alcohol selection at the spa, but I also think that’s really good so your body can just detox. Akeem got the Japanese Miso Ramen dish and I got Chicken Dup Bap- but I asked for the rice on the side and they were very accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious!!

Once we ate we came back to do the second half of the saunas, and to give our food time to digest.

After that, we decided to go back to the locker room, get dressed into our bathing suits – shower and meet at the upstairs aqua pool. We spent a good amount of time in the indoor aqua pool upstairs and then we wanted to try the outdoor hydrotherapy pool and hot tubs.

This was exactly what I needed. The hydrotherapy got right into all the perfect places to really loosen and soothe my muscles. They had like hot tubs at the end of the pool but the water in the pool was pretty warm. It was a cold day, so it was definitely nice to have the water at a nice temperature to be able to enjoy the pool.

I didn’t take many photos because it was a lot to keep running back and forth to the locker room (there are no lockers/cubbies near the sauna or pool) & I tried just relaxing for a change!

Maybe next time I’ll snap a few more photos!

After enjoying the outdoor hydrotherapy pools together, we decided to go to the indoor therapy pools located in the separate locker rooms- the nude pools.

Since I found a friend, I would say I was more comfortable going in the nude pools because it gave me someone to talk to, and it took away from the fact that there’s just a bunch of naked women that I don’t know hanging out and in the same pool water as me… The thought of that wasn’t very appealing. However, Akeem said that he kind of felt alone because well he was alone- so it wasn’t a lot of fun for him. The indoor nude pools were actually quite relaxing and tranquil if you were able to disconnect.

Gold Sauna and Rock Salt Sauna

Overall I say I was a lot more rested when I left here than ANY OTHER spa I’ve been to. It really helped me to heal and it helped to restore my body back to balance. I was having neck pains for a long time before coming to the spa and once I left, I literally felt amazing – and that was without any additional spa services… I only used the sauna and the hydrotherapy pools.

With that being said my boyfriend and I enjoy spending time together and we didn’t like the idea of being separated while we enjoyed the indoor therapy pools.

We both felt that the indoor pools were so soothing – but we felt lonely and it’s kind of awkward because you’re just looking off into space to avoid staring at someone’s naked body.

In addition, he mentioned to me that he didn’t care for the uniforms – which are a requirement when entering the saunas.

For us there are certain elements of luxury (uniforms and the small towels to dry off and cover up with) missing, however if you’re looking for one of the most relaxing experiences that you’ll ever have in your life – as long as you’re OK with nudity-you definitely need to check out king spa!
