We went to NYC to visit Babes family… and boy oh boy did we have a time! One of the many awesome things we did was see a Broadway Production 🎭! I haven’t been to a Broadway as an adult. During the thick of COVID I was eager to get out and see a show, ballet, play…. But we couldn’t and most things were closed or canceled- understandably so. Anyway this made me think what is one show I always hear about and has a long history of staying on Broadway- then it came to me … The Lion King!

So off we were (Babe, his mom, and I) we traveled from Brooklyn right to the heart of Times Square! I wanted the full New York City experience and we’re didn’t want to look for parking so we took the subway. I’m not going to lie- I was nervous about seeing the rats… but we didn’t !! Do you know how thankful and excited I was? Lucky for us Akeems mom knew how to operate the subway- I’m sure Akeem knows but it’s been a while 😂😂!

We were running a bit late but we were really moving right across the city! We made it right in time… it felt like they waited for us to arrive because as soon as we sat- the lights dimmed and the show was ready to start!!

Just WOW !! The show was great. To see a childhood story transformed into a work of art. It was beautiful and I saw what the hype was about.

After the show we bought a few lion king items, walked around Times Square, enjoyed a delicious dinner at Revel and Rye looking out over the city and all the lit up with billboards! For more info about the restaurant click here!

After dinner we had a caricatures drawn while we froze a little bit in the city haha! It was a crisp, chilly night! But also so magical ✨!! We ended the night with a few slices of cheesecake from Juniors! All I’m going to say is- if you haven’t been to Juniors, you’re missing out! Best Professional Cheesecake I’ve tasted yet!

Until next time NYC ! Check out a video of our NYC trip here!
