Bubble Run

  • Indications: family fun and fitness
  • Daily Dose:5k course through gravel, pavement, and grass with different color bubbles
  • Side Effects: it’s hot so stay hydrated, wear good shoes that you don’t mind getting messed up

Counseling Points: This was a fun course for friends, family, or solo. I wouldn’t recommend doing this course if you’re trying to set a personal record but it’s really good if you’re new to running or just looking for some fun fitness. It is in the summer so it’s very hot and there are only 2 water stations (One at the midpoint -which was super crowded- and one at the very end); So either make sure you keep a walking bottle of water with you or get/stay hydrated before the race.

The race is fun and the people are very nice and encouraging. There are a lot of children and families, which is the reason I don’t think this is the best race to set a personal record. The race coordinator’s ask people to walk on the right and run on the left, however there was no straight through path and I often ended up running around people or off the course, which slowed me down. But it’s okay.. I’m not a super strong runner 🏃🏽‍♀️, this was me for fun!

The course had four different bubble stations.. The first was pink the second was blue the third was green and the fourth was yellow! The grassy area around/under the bubble station gets very very muddy and might mess up your shoes (they will get wet) if you run/walk directly through it- I learned this from the first bubble station and chose to run around the others to avoid getting my shoes muddy and damp.

There is a happy feeling when you pass through each of the stations and get a little bit of the bubble color on you… The white shirt allows you to see the color if you really play in the bubbles. You saw the fun hues of color on peoples shirts, especially on the kids, and it was nostalgic! I took a few videos because the coordinators suggested videos so people can continue moving instead of stopping to take still photos.
