The getaway house was nothing short of amazing. We were celebrating our one year anniversary … And wanted a place to go away to recharge, relax and rejuvenate. Check out a short video here!

That is exactly what we got. You’re driving for a while on Long country Roads… which I am used to, but my boyfriend is not! He’s a city boy at heart lol. Not going to lie though this country was quite different from the country atmosphere that I’m used to.

Lovely Glamping set up

We enjoyed a nice break away from the hustle and bustle of the world and escaped to the country. These cute little cozy cabins surrounded by woodsy atmosphere was exactly what we needed to rest and rejuvenate.

We had had a chance to sleep in serenity with no alarms and wake up to a beautiful view from our huge window in our tiny cabin.

We roasted hotdogs and marshmallow’s (to make s’mores) by the fire and [I] sang a few songs lol !

We went hiking around Graves Mill Trail and Shenandoah National Park.

We had a chance to reconnect with nature and each other! I highly recommend this getaway if you want to feel rejuvenated !☺️🥂

Of course our visit wouldn’t be complete without a trip to a Vineyard or Brewery… with all this beautiful land and farms. Food does not get fresher than this! Revalation Vineyards was such a cute set up! On our visit we had a charcuterie board which included fresh warm bread, cheese, meat- (from an Italian butcher’s family that relocated to Virginia), honey, fresh ice cream with wine sauce, a cherry sangria, and 2 flights of semi-sweet to dry wine (5 tastings included)!

Krissy was the best.. she told us a little background about our food and wine, made some great suggestions (write them out) about things to try both at the Vineyard and in the area, and didn’t mind chatting most of the afternoon with us in outside! She also snapped a few photos for us with the beautiful blue ridge mountains in the back! What a sight for sore eyes !!

Blue Ridge Mountains

We then made a quick pit stop at Bald Top Brewery! And we are happy we did! Daniel was awesome and didn’t rush us although we got there pretty close to closing. Both my boyfriend and I got a flight of beer, I tried four different beers and he opt to try 8 LOL… talk about fight to the finish 😂! These were nice out too… I was stuffed just like a pumpkin!

We also got boneless Buffalo wings- they were perfect with the brews! Bald Top was definitely a vibe and a must try if you go to Getaway Shenandoah!

To close I’ll mention that we did try to cook on the fire pit every chance we got usually in the evenings and we made breakfast on the stove top every morning. Breakfast usually consisted of eggs (scrambled/omelet style), a fruit (banana or apple), and a breakfast meat (turkey sausage or turkey bacon). This was a perfect getaway… Until next time!
